With IE 7, green means go for legit sites | CNET News.com

Initially, only corporations will be able to get the online trust indicator-a rule that shuts out smaller businesses.

Corporations that want the address bar to turn green when people visit their Web site will have to buy a new certificate. This process will include extra verification to identify the company as legitimate.
This is just a bad idea. I hope that enough large corporations, which depend on small businesses, boycott this initiative that it dies on the vine. People, in general, are not going to be smart enough to know which which web sites are run by small businesses, so it’s ok if the bar is not green.

Hey, is there a 2ndary indication of the "Green" bar? I just compared microsoft.com to sbrew.com in IE7 and couldn't see any obvious difference... I also tried some https: URLs--no apparent difference to me!
